With his ever present grin, Scorch waves at kids, including 8-year-old Joseph Stegmaier, while they enjoy a free carousel ride Saturday at the Red River Zoo. Earlier, Stegmaier had his face painted and participated in the Almost 3K Fun Run/Walk, one of the events MSUM sponsored during the first ever North of Normal Frostival. Noting several MSUM students volunteered Saturday, Shireen Alemadi, MSUM’s community outreach coordinator said, “We want our students to be part of the larger community, to engage with the community.” The Frostival wrapped up Sunday following 16 events at 12 sites throughout Fargo-Moorhead. “It’s cool to be cold,” Alemadi said.
